We aspire to ensure we can provide for a future where every home has access to water, every network is managed with no leakages, and every drop is accounted for.
Shanta Colibri India Private Limited is a subsidiary of Shanta Synergies group, created in 1998 in association with M/S Seureca Consulting Engineers of France. The first assignment was to focus on the Calcutta Water Supply Management Project, a project envisaged in 1998 under the Indo-French Protocol.
Our Project Solutions
We focused on delivering technology to infrastructure projects so that modern India can create self-sufficient infrastructure models. We believe people should get access to their fundamental rights without delay. Water is one of the basic needs that must be consistently met. Despite the weather conditions, people deserve access to potable and clean drinking water.
When Calcutta suffered from an irregular water supply, people had the greatest difficulties in accessing clean water. Apart from drinking, water is also required for cooking and cleaning. Shanta Colibri is keen on providing infrastructure solutions equipped with technology to meet the needs of the people.
Before deploying technology, we perform a complete assessment of the project requirements and availability. Our experts will work on the site and understand what needs to be done. Once the requirements are identified, we focus on finding viable technology solutions. The solutions we incorporate should fit well with the available infrastructure and future needs. The sustainability of our solutions plays a significant role in choosing technology for the infrastructure projects we are involved in.
For water supply projects, we select water sources – rainwater, groundwater, and surface water. We choose a water source that is available for people in that region. We use locally available sources because bringing water from elsewhere is not commercially viable. We work to ensure that the local water source meets the needs of the local people.
Depending on the water source, we choose sourcing projects such as rainwater harvesting, tubewells, hand-dug wells, protected springs, boreholes, river intakes, sub-surface dams, etc., to abstract water from the source. We then employ technology to transport water to people so that they can collect, store, and use it safely.
To make water accessible, we use gravity flow water systems, hand pumps, solar pumping, and water storage mechanisms. Depending on the location, we also deploy water kiosks so that the citizens can meet their water needs on demand.
We used Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to capture, organise, store, analyse, manage, and manipulate spatial and geographic data. This technology is critical to understand existing underground pipe and cable systems that make the geological composition. To ensure the water supply is consistent, we deployed flow and pressure monitoring stations across the entire network.

Shanta Colibri India Private Limited having office at AG-112, Salt Lake City, Sector-2, Kolkata-700091 has successfully carried out the work entitled “Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Smart Bulk Consumer water meter, GPRS RTU and Control Valve on fixed network for Water Supply Management, Action Area-I, New Town, Kolkata”.
This is to certify that M/s. Shanta Colibri India Private Limited of AG 112, Salt Lake City, Sector -2, Kolkata-700091 have successfully carried out the work entitled “Flow Management System for Comprehensive Distribution under the Command Zone of 30MGD Dhapa WTP under JnNURM”. It worthwhile mention that the work is an integral component of the JnNURM project entitled “Comprehensive Distribution Network under the Command Zone of 30 MGD Dhapa WTP”.
It is to certify that MS Shanta Colibri has completed the work of survey, baseline study, condition assessment of all existing assets and instruments in KMC Area, supply of flow meters, pressure sensors, level sensors and transmitters, monitoring stations, bulk water meters, supply and installation of water pipeline networks, Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of SCADA hardware and software for Water Transmission and Distribution Management System for the area under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation covering 5 WTP of total capacity 460 MGD, 10 nos of ESR & 25 nos of BPS along with integration of existing SCADA and IT Systems.
